{"id":24,"date":"2011-04-08T12:47:49","date_gmt":"2011-04-08T16:47:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/?p=24"},"modified":"2011-04-20T13:03:04","modified_gmt":"2011-04-20T17:03:04","slug":"mirabel-reworked-to-support-c-series-production","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/2011\/04\/08\/mirabel-reworked-to-support-c-series-production\/","title":{"rendered":"Mirabel reworked to support C Series production"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bombardier Aerospace has begun work at its aircraft production facility in Mirabel, Qu\u00e9bec, to accommodate final assembly of the first flight test C Series aircraft.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_25\" style=\"width: 293px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-25\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25\" title=\"Bombardier C Series Aircraft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/cseries.jpg\" alt=\"Bombardier C Series Aircraft\" width=\"293\" height=\"225\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-25\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bombardier C Series Aircraft<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In March 2011, space optimization and re-tooling at the Mirabel facility, began which will accommodate final assembly of the first C Series aircraft required for the flight test and certification program.<\/p>\n<p>The Complete Integrated Aircraft Systems Test Area (CIASTA), the first area at the Mirabel plant developed for the C Series aircraft program, is on schedule with the installation of systems rigs currently underway. as well as the existing buildings, new buildings for the C Series aircraft program will be constructed, these being a supplier satellite area, final assembly structural joining and pulse line area, an area for pre-flight testing, paint shops, and a delivery and administrative center.<\/p>\n<p>A moving  \t\tproduction line is being introduced at Bombardier&#8217;s St-Laurent  \t\tManufacturing Center, where major components of the CSeries aircraft,  \t\tsuch as the cockpit and aft fuselage, are being produced, and similar final assembly line is planned for Mirabel.<\/p>\n<p>The  \t\tC Series aircraft, which are single-aisle 100- to  \t\t149-seat aircraft, are designed to provide the lowest operating costs in their class. Bombardier&#8217;s goal is to capture up to half of  \t\tits forecasted market demand for 6,700 aircraft in the 100- to 149-seat  \t\tcommercial aircraft market segment.<\/p>\n<p>Bombardier has launched 28 new aircraft programs since  \t\t\t\t\t\t1989, including business, commercial and special mission  \t\t\t\t\t\taircraft and is the world&#8217;s third largest aircraft company.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bombardier Aerospace has begun work at its aircraft production facility in Mirabel, Qu\u00e9bec, to accommodate final assembly of the first flight test C Series aircraft.
