The aircraft&#8217;s nose gear would not deploy and the aircraft made a non-standard landing as a result. The airport was temporarily closed as crews responded to the landing, passengers and crew left the plane via emergency chutes.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_244\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-244\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-244 \" title=\"N637RW\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/N637RW-300x185.jpg\" alt=\"N637RW\" width=\"300\" height=\"185\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/N637RW-300x185.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/N637RW.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-244\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Shuttle America Embraer 170 N637RW<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The plane, an Embraer 170, registered N637RW, was operated by Shuttle America on the 3:47 p.m. flight from Atlanta to Newark. The pilot declared an unsafe landing gear situation before landing at Newark.<\/p>\n<p>After a flyby of the tower to check the position of the gear and application of foam on the runway, the plane landed just before 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>There were 69 passengers and four crew members on the flight; no injuries were reported.
