{"id":51,"date":"2011-04-28T11:32:31","date_gmt":"2011-04-28T15:32:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/?p=51"},"modified":"2011-04-28T11:38:12","modified_gmt":"2011-04-28T15:38:12","slug":"jazz-air-brand-to-be-retired","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/2011\/04\/28\/jazz-air-brand-to-be-retired\/","title":{"rendered":"Jazz Air brand to be retired"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was announced today that a decision has been made by Air Canada to retire the Jazz branding of its regional carrier and replace that name with <em>Air Canada express<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_52\" style=\"width: 558px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52\" class=\"size-full wp-image-52\" title=\"Air Canada Jazz CRJ 705\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Air-Canada-Jazz-CRJ-705.jpg\" alt=\"Air Canada Jazz CRJ 705\" width=\"558\" height=\"243\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Air-Canada-Jazz-CRJ-705.jpg 558w, https:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Air-Canada-Jazz-CRJ-705-300x130.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 558px) 100vw, 558px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-52\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Air Canada Jazz CRJ 705<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The new branding will replace the current Jazz brand as part  of an attempt to &#8220;more clearly educate passengers on what to expect in  terms of aircraft size and crew when flying on the different brands of  Air Canada.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The name differentiates the mainline from the regional service, and eventually the low-cost carrier that Air Canada plans to launch  within the next year as a subsidiary company.<\/p>\n<p>The decision comes just days before Air Canada is set to launch its service from Toronto Island Airport using a small fleet of Bombardier  Q400s operated by Sky Regional Airlines Inc.<\/p>\n<p>The Toronto Island service will be the first to feature the Air  Canada express logo in its marketing and on its aircraft. The entire Jazz Air fleet will receive the new logo once they are repainted as part of their  regular maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>Air  Georgian and EVAS Air will also display the new name and look.
