{"id":956,"date":"2013-11-07T15:38:44","date_gmt":"2013-11-07T20:38:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/?p=956"},"modified":"2013-11-09T16:04:09","modified_gmt":"2013-11-09T21:04:09","slug":"will-mrj-delays-mean-skywest-changes-its-order-plans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/2013\/11\/07\/will-mrj-delays-mean-skywest-changes-its-order-plans\/","title":{"rendered":"Will MRJ delays mean SkyWest changes its order plans?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-418\" alt=\"SkyWest Logo\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/skywest-airline-logo-1-300x112.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"112\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/skywest-airline-logo-1-300x112.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/skywest-airline-logo-1-1024x385.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.rjet.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/skywest-airline-logo-1.jpg 1530w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Questions are being asked about SkyWest&#8217;s future plans with regards to the ongoing delays being suffered by the Mitsubishi MRJ program and whether those delays may force SkyWest to alter its future fleet plans.<\/p>\n<p>Mitsubishi announced a further delay to the delivery of the first MRJ aircraft to the second quarter of 2017 which would then indicate that SkyWest could not expect its first aircraft to be delivered until sometime in 2018.\u00a0In 2012 SkyWest ordered 100 Mitsubishi MRJs to the surprise of Bombardier and Embraer.\u00a0While SkyWest has publicly indicated that it continued to support the MRJ program, it also noted that it expected\u00a0Mitsubishi\u00a0to deliver all the airplane as advertised and in a timely manner.\u00a0SkyWest did not indicate if it was considering modifying its agreement with Mitsubishi, or whether the carrier was speaking to other planemakers.<\/p>\n<p>Previous to the MRJ order, Bombardier had long been SkyWest\u2019s aircraft supplier.
