Bombardier and Embraer Split American Airlines order

American EagleOn December 12th, 2013, American Airlines announced it had placed an order for aircraft with Bombardier and Embraer with a combined list value of $3.9 billion dollars. The agreements are for 30 firm orders for Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen aircraft and 60 Embraer 175s with additional options.

Deliveries are planned to start in the second quarter of 2014 for the CRJ900s and the first quarter of 2015 for the Embraer aircraft. PSA Airlines will operate the CRJs but the operator of the Embraers was not announced. American Eagle currently operates 184 ERJ-135 and 145 series Embraer jets and 47 CRJ700s.
