Japan Airlines converts options on four Embraer 170s

JAL-EMB170On June 20th, 2013 Embraer announced that Japan Airlines had converted four options it held on Embraer 170s to firm orders.

The firm order was already included in Embraer’s backlog as an undisclosed customer. In total Japan Airlines now holds fifteen aircraft on firm order.

Currently Japan Airlines operates twelve Embraer 170s on domestic routes operating from four hub airports through its feeder airline structure.

Arik Air signs deal for three CRJ1000 NextGens and four Q400s

On June 19, 2013 Bombardier announced that Arik Air signed a firm contract to purchase three CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft and four Q400 NextGen turboprop aircraft. Arik Air currently operates four CRJ900 aircraft and two Q400 NextGen aircraft.

Finnair leases three Embraer 170s to Aeromexico Connect

On June 19th, 2013 Finnair announced that it would lease three Embraer 170s to Aeroméxico Connect. All three of the Embraer 170 aircraft are owned by Finnair.

The aircraft will be delivered to Aeroméxico Connect beginning this month with the other two following in June 2014 when their existing leases to Kenya Airways expire. Aeroméxico Connect is leasing each of the three Embraer 170s for a six-year term.

Horizon Air converts three Q400 options to orders

On June 18th, 2013 Bombardier announced that Horizon Air signed a firm order for three Q400 NextGen turboprop airliners. The order is a conversion of three previously booked options for the aircraft. The airline also reconfirmed its options on another seven Q400 NextGen aircraft.

The new aircraft will increase Horizon Air’s orders for Q400 and Q400 NextGen airliners to 51 aircraft making it the world’s largest operator of the Q400 series.
