On September 13, 2013, Bombardier announced that, if weather on the day cooperates and the CSeries FTV aircraft is ready, the first flight of FTV-1 will take place on Monday, September 16, 2013.

Bombardier has indicated that onsite access will be for media only and guests at Mirabel, but there are several locations around the perimeter of the airport where the flight should be able to be seen by the public as well.
Exact timing of the flight will be announced by Bombardier approximately 24 hours before the event takes place.
